Here yesterday, gone today

Son, Brother, Husband, Father, Friend

Mark Thomas Bulloch died suddenly on Monday July 19, 2021. A resident of Summerville, SC, Mark grew up in Georgia and NC as part of a somewhat nomadic family. He graduated from High School in Dalton, Ga and graduated from North Carolina State University with a BS in Engineering. He had a career in Metallurgy at several aluminum companies including Alumax, and retired from Boeing in North Charleston in 2019.

Mark was married to Maridelia in 1979. He is survived by Maridelia and their sons Daniel Bulloch and William Bulloch. He is survived by brother David Bulloch (Julia) of Aberdeen, NC, sister Susan Bulloch (Nina Layton) of Charlotte, NC, niece Robin Barnes (Aemonn) and Eli, Tyson and Sallie, nephews Marty Bulloch (Meagan) and Ben and Nate, Len Pipkin and Summer, Ginger and Jax. Mark was preceded in death by parents, Ben and Hazel Bulloch of Aberdeen, NC.

Mark was a devoted father and best friend to his sons. He was a member of St. Theresa, the Little Flower Catholic Church in Summerville, SC and was in the Knights of Columbus. His community knew him as a caring and generous man who was quick with a smile and a joke.

As a boy, he was known for taking apart his toys to see how they worked. He often assembled them back better. He learned the intricacies of mechanical things for fun. He could build and repair anything. He had begun a retirement filled with boat refinishing, kayaking, fishing, auctions and other projects, many of which he shared with son Daniel when his life was cut short.

Services will be held Thursday, July 29, 2021 at St. Theresa the Little Flower Church at 11001 Dorchester Road Summerville, SC 29485. Family visitation begins at 11:00 AM at the church and the Memorial Service at Noon.

A Memorial Service is planned in October in West Georgia for family and friends in that area.

  2. I am so very sorry to know of Mark’s passing! He was a remarkable husband and father! My heart and prayers are with you Maridellia! You and Mark were able to manage so many challenges with loving and attending to a handicapped child! I hope I see you soon, so I can hug you in person and tell you how much I admire you! Be strong and know that Mark is at peace with God and will be watching over you and his sons! I love you, beautiful friend! Judy Annie Hurt Yankus

  5. I worked with Mark at Boeing and enjoyed his quick wit and ready smile. He never had anything bad to say about any given situation, and during start up at Boeing we had some challenging times. Mark was a great man and someone I’ve always been proud to call my friend. Rest in Peace my brother. Heaven needed a new engineer.

  6. I worked with Mark at Boeing. He was a quiet professional. He always took time out to explain things, several times if necessary. But never, never did he lose his patience.
